Current and upcoming National Minimum Wage Information  - Update January 2026

National Minimum Wage (NMW) and National Living Wage (NLW) are the lowest rates of pay per hour that most workers must be paid by law. It does not matter how many workers you employ; you must pay at least NMW or NLW. Rates increase on 1 April each year. 

National Living Wage rates apply to those aged 21 and over and the National Minimum Wage for those of at least school leaving age. 

Upcoming changes to Statutory Payment Rates - Update January 2026

From April 2026, the weekly rate of Statutory Maternity Pay, maternity allowance, 
Statutory Paternity Pay, Statutory Adoption Pay, Statutory Shared Parental Leave Pay, 
Parental Bereavement Pay, and Statutory Neonatal Care Leave Pay is expected to 
increase to £194.32 (currently £187.18).

Employers contribution rate 28.68%.
